Artificial intelligence that writes horror stories!
Researchers at MIT have developed an artificial intelligence that can write horror stories, adding fun and fright to Halloween. The development of this AI was inspired by Mary Shelley, the author of “Frankenstein.”
Shelley writes a horror story
The artificial intelligence program developed by MIT researchers, named Shelley AI after the legendary novelist Mary Shelley, writes its own horror stories. Shelley AI draws inspiration from various sources and is adept at seamlessly integrating horror elements, much like assembling a puzzle. Every hour, it shares a short horror story on Twitter via its @shelley_ai account.
Here’s a sample story from AI:
“I could feel something watching me. I could see the dark shadow standing there with hatred on its face. I was scared, so I took my eyes off this entity and turned towards the mirror, only to see that it was behind me!”
This is the second Halloween-specific AI software developed by MIT. Last year, engineers created the Nightmare Machine. The Nightmare Machine was designed to alter visuals to make them frightening. When you uploaded a photo of your face, it transformed you into a zombie. Additionally, when you uploaded a picture of a location, it turned the place into an abandoned or bloody crime scene.
